Century Bike Ride

Information:

Century Bike Ride through scenic Brazoria County on Sunday, June 11, 2000. The ride starts and finishes at Alvin Community College.

Several different ride lengths are offered:

  • 100-Mile Ride - Begins at 7:00 a.m.
    Perfect for experienced cyclists.
    This trek includes crossing the largest bridge in Brazoria County.

  • 62 & 50 Mile Ride - Begins at 7:03 a.m.
    Takes the rider through rural & historic areas of the County.

  • 30-Mile Ride - Begins at 7:06 a.m.
    Covers scenic areas of Brazoria County. An excellent route for the novice cyclist.

  • 20 & 10 Mile Ride - Begins at 7:10 a.m.
    Makes for a fun cycling experience for families and beginning riders.

    • Designated signs must be followed by all riders.

    • Routes will be marked.

    • Stay to the right.

    • Obey course monitors and all traffic laws.

    • Please stay on designated routes.

    • All courses close at 4:00 p.m.

    • Rides will be held rain or shine.

    • ANSI, ASTM, DOT or Snell-approved Helmets are required for both the race and ride.

    • Water bottles should be carried by every rider. Refills will be available at all rest stops.

    • Caution: Make sure to drink plenty of liquids.

    • Bicycle Safety is your responsibility. Have your bike inspected at your local bike shop

    • Minor Medical Services will be available


    Children Races & Bike Safety Program

    Children, ages 5 through 13, will have an opportunity to race for medals in between USCF category races on Saturday, June 10.

    The Bike Safety Program will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. All children must attend in order to participate in races.

    The first race will begin at 9:35 a.m. (these are not USCF races).

    Registration will be the day of the event.

    Children races are free to all entrants.
