ALVIN HISTORICAL MUSEUM
The Alvin Historical Museum, housed in the former post office building at 300 West Sealy, is officially open. Visitors can tour the museum
and see exhibits every Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. and the first Saturday of every month from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Admission is $3 per person.
The Alvin Museum Gift Shop is also open the same hours as the museum and features items for sales such as calendars, ornaments and the 1915 directories.
In addition, there are magnets, key chains and local history books and books by local authors Bill Crider, Larry Phillips and others.
The Marguerite Rogers House Museum is another “must see” in Alvin. Visitors can tour the restored Victorian cottage that features
several original pieces of furniture. The cottage is open the same hours as the museum and admission is also $3.

“The museum is a work in progress,” said Cleo Congrady, president of the Alvin Museum Society. “There are a number of exhibits in place, and more will be added as time goes on,” she said.
