Alvin Historic Depot Centre
Explore the 100+ year old Alvin Historic Train Depot Centre, which once was the hub for business and agriculture and served the Santa Fe Rail Line. Now available to rent for special events.
See American history preserved at the Confederate Cemetery. A historical marker was placed at the Confederate Cemetery in Alvin in 1969 to honor the many war veterans buried there.
Step back in time at the old post office, which is now the Alvin Historical Museum and Gift Shop. You can view exhibits that showcase the past history and culture of Alvin, as well as visiting exhibits from NASA and others.
Marguerite Rogers House Museum
A restored Victorian cottage featuring original furniture pieces, the Marguerite Rogers House Museum is revered as a “must see”. It is a place of remembrance for old, as well as a place of discovery for the young.
Parks and Outdoor
Bayou Wildlife Park
Take a walk on the wild side at Bayou Wildlife Park. Go on your very own African Safari and see animals from Africa, India, Asia, Australia, and North and South America, all nestling in their own natural habitats.
Stop by Froberg’s Farms and experience a 60 year family tradition of raising, picking and selling the best vegetables, nuts and fruits in the area. The store sells pies, meats and canned produce. Tours are available as well as public picking when in season.
Alvin Antique Center
Spend the whole day antiquing at the Alvin Antique Center, a 55,000 sq. ft. antique mall with hundreds of uniquely filled shops. This is an ever-changing array of gifts and antiques collected locally and from around the world.
A real blast from the past, Stanton’s General Store opened in 1922. This trip back in time has a grocery store, feed store, farm supplies, livestock, restaurant and gift shop all in one. With so much to choose from, there is something for everyone!
