On January 30, 1999, winners of the annual awards will be announced at the Chamber’s 42^nd Annual Awards Banquet. Nominations are being received for:

• Citizen of the Year, recognizing an individual who has demonstrated a commitment to the community over a period of years;

• Chamber Leadership Award, recognizing an individual whose enthusiasm and efforts have led the way for the Chamber to reach its goals and objectives;

• Chamber Volunteer of the Year, recognizing someone whose time and expertise has ensured the success of the Chamber in 1998.

Nominations deadline is January 6, 1999 and may be faxed, mailed, or dropped off at the Chamber office and must include the candidate’s name, outstanding personal characteristics, and Chamber/community accomplishments and activities which make him/her a worthy nominee.

Nostalgic and entertaining surprises are planned for attendees and winners of these prestigious awards at this 50’s attire event. In keeping with the "Cruisin’ Route 99" theme, there will be classic cars on display, Elvis, pony tails, and poodle skirts and a trip down memory lane. As you enter the Knights of Columbus Hall you’ll step into the soda fountain, sock hop era with a drive in motif. Tables will be decorated with checkered table cloths and rock’n roll centerpieces.

Social hour begins at 6 p.m. at which time the silent auction items will be made available for viewing, with dinner following at 7 p.m. A dance will end the evening for those who’d like to twist the night away! Reserve your spot for this fun filled night by January 20, tickets are $30 per person or $300 per table of 8. Get your leather jackets, sweaters and poodle skirts out of the cedar chest, and dust off those saddle oxfords and penny loafers and get into the swing! What’s old is new again!
